About Us

Craig is the owner of Shining Mountain Llamas. He is a Colorado native from Evergreen and currently lives in the mountains of South Park, where he is working on his ranch. He is a former U.S. Marine Corps Captain and Harrier pilot. Additionally, he holds a 737 type rating and has worked as a flight instructor. He comes from both a military family and a family of pilots. He has spent much of his life traveling and living around the world—both for personal pursuits and through military service—including time in Greece, Japan, Korea, Ireland, and Hawaii.

Today, when he is not tending to his llamas, he enjoys hunting (especially archery), fly fishing, skiing, and snowboarding. He has also spent years sailing, surfing, free diving, spearfishing, whitewater rafting, and running marathons. When not in the mountains or on the water, he enjoys cooking and building things with his own hands, flipping and improving his home, spending time with his golden retriever and yellow lab, and continuing his education by pursuing a second Master’s degree in Agricultural Science at Colorado State University (expected 2026). He previously earned his MBA from the University of Denver. He also prioritizes spending as much time as possible with his daughter and family.
